Snow Day

We are in the middle of a blizzard here.

The moisture is much needed but the freezing rain and snow makes calving far more difficult. I'm crossing my fingers and praying those cow Mommas will cross their legs today and keep those babies in till the storm passes.

Our little town has pretty much shut down, rumor has it even McDonalds isn't open today. So I thought I'd share some links from around the web to keep you for boredom and insanity on a snow day.

Have a lovely day!

P.S. I could totally handle being snowed in here.

P.P.S. Did you see it? Did you see it? I finally have a Pin It button for all of you!

If you don't see it here, click on the individual article you want to Pin and it'll be there. I promise.

I set it up that way so that when you pin something it will take you to that exact article, not my homepage.

This is the tutorial I used, it was very helpful!

Thanks again for stopping by.

Changes

I was cleaning today, which gave me time to think, and thinking always leads me here. The house is 'weekend messy', so decided to clean my floors, because The Nester says if your floors are clean the rest of the house feels clean too, even if it isn’t.  I have found that it is pretty good advice, so when everything else feels chaotic, I clean the floors. Of course for me, cleaning the floors also means picking up the toys, shoes, clothes, etc. so that I can even begin to vacuum, which naturally leads to a cleaner home as well.  While cleaning up I began to think about how this blog has evolved over the years, from a desire to write like The Nester about home, into what it is now.  I started writing this blog when I was dreaming of building a new home. Then plans changed, life took turns, and we ended up in a home so different than I expected and so perfect for our family. Somewhere along the way I realized that home wasn’t in the walls that went up or in the co

How to Brighten Up a Friday!

What's a girl to do when the babies are driving her crazy on a Friday and she's in the middle of an existential crisis ? Go shopping of course, then out to lunch with her brother and a good friend! I couldn't help myself today when I found this bright turquoise chair at a local store and the star strainer was just what I needed to brighten up another gray skied day. Have a beautiful Friday! P.S. A blog I follow just released a fabulous app for pictures! I used it on the photo above!   Posted with Blogsy

Simplify

I have been wanting to simplify some areas of my life for awhile now, but I just haven't taken the time do it. I already feel like I live a pretty simple life and there are aspects of it that I really love. But there is more that I want to do to improve the way I am living and the way that I am raising my kids. Over the next few weeks, I am going to be sharing some of the things I am already doing and some other things I want to implement into my lifestyle. Let's quiet the noise of the world. Let's tame down the chaos. Let's find a starting point and just jump. It starts at home. Whether you are single or married or have a house full of kids. Peace begins at home. How you treat yourself and how you treat others. We have to start somewhere on quieting all of the noise and giving ourselves and our loved ones a place of rest. A place to feel safe. A place to call home. So lets start small. First up: Let's enjoy a meal with the people we love. You can m
